Tiger Pilan cultivation methods and precautions

Tiger Pilan cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

It is recommended to use loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil or humus soil as the potting soil.

2. Lighting

It does not require much light. It can grow healthily if there is sufficient light, and its leaf color will be brighter. However, it is necessary to pay attention to shading when the light is strong in summer.

3. Temperature

It likes a warm climate, with a suitable temperature of 18-27℃. It will stop growing when the temperature is below 13℃, and a long period of time below 10℃ will cause the plant to die.

4. Watering

It is relatively drought-resistant, so you just need to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist and slightly dry on a daily basis. You can water it more when it is growing vigorously in spring and autumn, but you must avoid water accumulation in the pot. During the winter dormancy period, you must control watering and keep the soil dry.

5. Fertilization

Its requirements for fertilizer are not high. Apply thin liquid fertilizer 1-2 times a month during the growing season, and standard liquid fertilizer once a month at other times. Do not apply too much fertilizer, and it is best to use nitrogen fertilizer.

6. Notes

There are two methods of propagation for Sansevieria: division and cutting. In comparison, the survival rate of division is relatively high. Usually the flowerpot is changed in spring. The method is to cut off the leaves that have grown too densely with a sharp blade, and plant them in the flowerpot with the suckers and rhizomes.
