How many seasons can beans be planted in a year?

Beans can be planted twice a year, which can be divided into summer sowing and autumn sowing. In summer, you can choose to plant beans from mid-April to late June. In autumn, you can choose to sow beans from August to September. When planting beans in autumn, you must pay attention to weather changes and grasp the opportunity.

Bean planting conditions

1. Temperature

Green beans are relatively heat-resistant but not frost-resistant. They can grow normally at a high temperature of 35℃. The minimum temperature for germination is 8-12℃. The growth of green beans will be inhibited when the temperature is below 10℃. When the temperature is 0-5℃, the green beans may die. When planted in the open field in northern regions, harvesting must be completed before frost.

2. Moisture

Green beans require an appropriate amount of water. They should not be too wet during the seed development and young curl stages to avoid reducing the seed germination rate and even causing root rot and seedling death. When it comes to flowering and pod formation, the air and soil humidity should be appropriate. Too much rain and high humidity will easily cause flowers and pods to fall off. Too much water in the soil is not conducive to the growth of roots and rhizobia, and may even cause root rot.

Bean harvest time

The beans can be divided into four cycles from planting to harvesting: the germination period, the seedling period, the vine extension period and the flowering and podding period. The harvest time will be different for different varieties. Early-maturing varieties need 50-60 days, mid-maturing varieties need 60-70 days, and late-maturing varieties need 70-80 days . They can all be put on the market.
