Purple cabbage planting time and method

Purple cabbage planting time

Purple cabbage is generally planted between June and July. It is a vegetable that prefers cool weather and cannot tolerate extreme heat, so the sowing period must be strictly controlled. It can be slightly advanced, but not delayed, otherwise the autumn harvest will be loose, which will affect growth.

How to grow purple cabbage

1. Site selection and land preparation: Purple cabbage has good adaptability to the environment, but when selecting a site, avoid choosing land for continuous cropping, because it is more prone to diseases. After selecting the site, the soil needs to be deeply plowed in time and exposed to the sun for a few days.

2. Sowing: Before sowing purple cabbage, you need to apply enough base fertilizer, dig trenches, and do a good job of drainage. Then sow at a certain distance, cover with a layer of soil, and wait for the seedlings to grow.

3. Field management: When the seedlings grow to 6-8 cm, they need to be transplanted. After transplanting, they need to be watered in time to keep the soil moist, and the seedlings should be checked and replanted regularly.

Things to note when planting purple cabbage

When caring for purple cabbage in the seedling stage, regular tillage and weeding are required to make the field look tidier. Fertilizer should be applied while weeding to reduce nutrient consumption. There should also be sufficient water environment at normal times to allow it to grow well.
