When is the best time to sow baby's breath seeds

Gypsophila seeds sowing time

When sowing baby's breath, the ambient temperature needs to be above 15 degrees. Only when the environment is suitable can it germinate. Under normal circumstances, sowing is carried out in spring and autumn. In spring, it can be done around February to May, and in autumn, it can be done in August to October. The temperature and humidity at this time are suitable, and the seeds can germinate faster.

Gypsophila seeds planting method and steps

1. Prepare the substrate: When sowing and propagating baby's breath, you need to prepare a loose, fertile, well-drained substrate. Generally, you can mix humus, garden soil and coarse sand. Before sowing, you need to disinfect it to prevent bacteria from infecting the seeds.

2. Seed selection and germination: If you want to increase the germination rate of baby's breath, you must choose seeds that are uniform and full. Do not use seeds with diseases and pests. Then soak them in water and wrap them with wet paper towels to germinate.

3. Start planting: Place the baby's breath seeds on the soil, leaving some distance between each seed, then cover them with a thin layer of soil. After sowing, the temperature needs to be controlled at around 15-20℃, water appropriately to keep it moist, and finally wait for it to germinate.

4. Planting and maintenance: After the baby's breath seeds germinate, don't rush to fertilize it, and don't expose it to the sun. Just keep it in a bright place with scattered light. It will gradually see the light after about a week.
