What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Phalaenopsis orchids?

Phalaenopsis cultivation method

Phalaenopsis prefers a warm growing environment. The temperature needs to be kept between 15-20 degrees during maintenance. In winter, the temperature needs to be kept above 10 degrees, otherwise it will stop growing. It usually needs a suitable lighting environment and needs to be planted in loose, fertile, and well-drained soil.

Watering method

Phalaenopsis needs to be watered once a day in spring and summer, and water should be sprayed around it at the same time. In autumn and winter, the temperature will gradually drop and watering needs to be reduced.

Fertilization method

When fertilizing Phalaenopsis, some chemical fertilizers are generally applied, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate. During the growth period, fertilizers need to be applied every 5-7 days. When the growth is slow in autumn and winter, fertilizers can be applied once every half a month.

Pruning methods

Phalaenopsis orchids need to be pruned after their flowers fade. Some of the thinner and drier branches and leaves should be cut off, and they should be cut at the place where they bloom. The branches and leaves can reduce the consumption of nutrients.

Phalaenopsis cultivation precautions

When caring for Phalaenopsis, you need to pay attention to the fact that it needs a suitable growth temperature during its maintenance period. It needs appropriate shade in summer. It is best to place it in a semi-shaded place and have a good ventilation environment. A low temperature environment can promote flower bud differentiation.
