How to care for the love vine in winter and what are the precautions

1. Pay attention to heat preservation

The love vine needs to be protected from cold and warm in winter, otherwise it will easily get frostbite. Before winter, the plant needs to be moved to a warm place indoors where the temperature should be above 10℃. If the room temperature is not enough, you need to prepare a plastic bag and cover the plant with it to keep it warm. Don't place it too close to the heater, as the side that is close to it will lose water easily.

2. Sufficient light

The love vine is suitable for growing in places with sufficient light. If the environment is dark, the plant will easily develop poorly. Although it is not resistant to strong light, the light in winter is relatively soft, so it can be exposed to the sun for a long time, which is not only beneficial to the plant's photosynthesis, but also can increase the ambient temperature, which is very helpful for the plant to overwinter.

3. Reduce watering

The love vine does not have a high demand for water and does not need to be watered too much during the growing season. In winter, you should pay more attention to water control. Too much watering can easily lead to root rot and may also cause frostbite. When watering, you need to pay attention to the water temperature. If the water temperature is too low, you need to leave it for a while until it is close to room temperature before using it.

4. Control fertilization

The love vine does not like fertilizer, so the amount of fertilizer must be controlled. When the plant grows slowly in winter, you can stop fertilizing. If you need to repot the plant, apply some base fertilizer when doing so to promote growth in the second year. In addition, if the room temperature is high, you can also apply appropriate topdressing, but do not apply too much phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
