Disease and Pest Control of Hibiscus

Disease and Pest Control of Hibiscus

1. Leaf spot disease prevention and control

The most common disease of this flower is leaf spot, which usually harms the leaves of the flower. Because this disease occurs frequently, it must be prevented in time. Leaf spot disease is generally caused by a fungus. After this harmful fungus invades the leaves of hibiscus, black spots will appear on the leaves in the early stage of the disease. However, as the disease progresses, the black spots will gradually turn into black patches, and then cause the leaves to curl and slowly wither and fall off.

The prevention and control methods of leaf spot disease are actually relatively simple and easy. As long as you master the right method, you can quickly solve this problem. First of all, it should be noted that the nutrition of the hibiscus sunflower should be sufficient during its growth and development, and fertilizer should be applied evenly. Don’t be greedy. Generally, don’t fertilize it too much or only apply nitrogen fertilizer. Then you must ensure that the environment in which the hibiscus grows has good ventilation conditions and is not exposed to too much direct sunlight. As long as there is sufficient light, then if the branches of the hibiscus are too dense, you should trim them slightly, because too dense branches will cause poor ventilation and easily breed fungi, causing leaf spot disease. Finally, if you find that the hibiscus has leaf spot disease, spray it with the right pesticide. Generally, spraying it two or three times a week can cure it.

2. Pest and disease control

In addition to diseases, hibiscus palms are often attacked by insect pests. Generally speaking, the most common insect pest of hibiscus is the invasion of beetles. If the hibiscus is infected with beetle pests, the beetles will eat the leaves and flowers of the hibiscus and suck its sap, which can easily cause worm holes to appear on the leaves. In severe cases, the leaves will wither and fall off. The best way to deal with beetles is to use pesticides to kill them, which will also kill their young eggs. Then another way is to use green muscardine to kill the eggs and larvae of beetles.

The diseases and pests of hibiscus are not difficult to cure, but they must be carefully prevented and controlled so that the hibiscus can grow better.
