Chlorophytum's water requirements

Chlorophytum's water requirements

1. Seasonal watering

1. Spring and Autumn: When watering spider plants, there is no fixed number of days to water them. They have large fleshy roots at the bottom, so although they like water, they are relatively drought-resistant. Sufficient watering must be ensured during the period of vigorous growth. Spring and autumn are the growing seasons, and you can water the plants every 3 to 5 days. This frequency is just a reference and does not need to be strictly followed. Just water them as soon as you find the soil is dry.

2. Summer: In summer, the temperature gradually rises, especially in midsummer, the climate is hot, and water evaporates quickly. Be sure to water in time and increase the frequency of watering. Water at least once a day, or twice a day.

3. Winter: With the arrival of late autumn and winter, the temperature gradually decreases. Its cold resistance is not strong. When the surrounding environment is below 5 degrees, the growth of spider plant will slow down or stop growing. Be sure to reduce the amount of watering. If the soil is not dry, there is no need to water it.

2. Water spraying to increase humidity

Chlorophytum likes to grow in a humid environment. In addition to normal watering of the roots, it also needs appropriate spraying to increase the air humidity.

3. Ensure water volume

Every time you water the spider plant, make sure it is watered thoroughly. You can observe the bottom of the pot and water until a little water flows out from the bottom of the pot. Do not water too much to cause water accumulation and root rot.
