How to care for Spathiphyllum after flowering

How to care for Spathiphyllum after flowering

1. Timely pruning

When the Peace Lily blooms, it needs to be pruned immediately. First, cut off the withered flowers from the base of the flower branches to ensure thorough pruning. This will reduce nutrient consumption, facilitate later growth, and facilitate the next flowering. In addition to the withered flowers, you should also prune the branches and leaves that are not growing well, especially those that are turning yellow or withered.

2. Topdressing Fertilizer

Anthurium consumes a lot of nutrients during the flowering period, so after the flowering period, it is necessary to apply fertilizer in time to replenish the nutrients consumed previously. It is best to choose water-soluble fertilizer, which is conducive to root absorption and mainly consists of phosphorus and potassium elements. After diluting the fertilizer, apply it to the flowerpot, which can promote the later growth of the plant and prepare for the next flowering.

3. Apply water in time

After the flowering period is over, don't forget the factor of water. Apply water appropriately to prevent the plant from being too dry, but be careful not to give too much water.

4. Change pots and soil

If the plant has grown very large, it will be difficult for it to grow in the original pot. At this time, you will need to change to a new pot that is larger than the original pot and use new fertile soil.
