Climate matters. This page is a practical baseline. Confirm cultivar, local frost/heat conditions, mature size and regional restrictions before planting.

Growing directions
Soak large seeds overnight then direct sow 1/2 in deep in poor, well-drained soil. Avoid fertilizing, as rich soil produces lush leaves at the expense of flowers. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong the season, or allow them to set seed and collect for next year. Both flowers and leaves are edible with a peppery flavor.
Source and local conditions
Typical planning ranges from OpenPlantDB (CC0). Cultivar, climate, season and growing method can change these values. Confirm the seed label and local guidance before planting.
