How to propagate Wanchongshan by division, cutting and sowing

Reproduction method of Wanchongshan

The common propagation method of Wanchongshan is mainly cuttings, and it can also be divided and sown for propagation. It can be carried out all year round, but it is best to do it in spring from April to May. The temperature at this time is between 15-20 degrees and the air humidity is high, which is suitable for rooting and sprouting.

Common breeding methods of Wanchongshan

1. Propagation of Wanchongshan by division

Wanchongshan is usually divided in conjunction with repotting. The mother plant is removed from the pot, the old soil is removed, and then its roots are divided into several clumps and planted in other pots. They will generally survive quickly.

2. Cutting propagation of Wanchongshan

Wanchongshan can be propagated by cuttings in spring from April to May. Select mature and relatively strong stems and leaves as cuttings, soak them in gibberellin solution for a few minutes, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry before planting.

When preparing the soil, you can put some bone meal or organic fertilizer at the bottom of the pot as base fertilizer. The soil should be disinfected in advance, and then the cuttings should be inserted obliquely into the prepared soil. After compacting the soil, pour in an appropriate amount of water. Control the temperature at around 14-23°C. It will take root in about 20 days. If it is cut during the plum rain season or summer, the survival rate will be lower.

3. Seeding propagation of Wanchongshan

Wanchongshan can also be propagated by sowing. Buy seeds in the market. The soil can be prepared with peat soil and leech soil. Scatter the seeds of Wanchongshan in flower pots, water them a little, and place them in a cool, well-ventilated place. After a few days, the seeds will turn white, and then move the seeds to pots.
