Kale planting time

Kale can be planted throughout the year because it has early-maturing, mid-maturing and late-maturing varieties. The early-maturing ones need to be planted in the open field and are available between June and October. If planted from September to March of the following year, mid-maturing and late-maturing varieties need to be used.

How to grow kale

1. Seeding process: Chinese kale can be planted by seedling transplanting or direct seeding. However, before sowing, it is necessary to prepare the land and apply fertilizer to make the land loose and fertile, and then it can be sown directly.

2. Seedling management: During the seedling stage, kale needs to be fertilized in time. Three times of quick-acting fertilizer is needed, and thinning should be carried out regularly to avoid the seedlings growing too densely, otherwise they will grow too tall.

3. Planting method: When kale is planted in the open field, it needs to be planted in the afternoon, and the seedbed must be watered thoroughly. There must be an appropriate spacing between rows and plants. It should not be planted too densely or too deep.

Things to note when growing kale

When caring for kale in the seedling stage, you need to pay attention to weeding in time to avoid absorbing too much nutrients. During the maintenance period, there must also be a good ventilation environment and sufficient sunlight. These are more important for its growth and can allow it to grow well.
