How to plant violets in small pots

How to plant violets in small pots

1. Select seeds

Before planting it, we must first select the seeds. When its flowers mature every year, we can harvest them. Then we need to properly select the harvested seeds, preferably those that are full and disease-free, and then preserve them.

2. Choose a flower pot

Its seeds are very small and cannot be planted in a pot that is too large. Therefore, when choosing a pot, we need to choose according to the variety of flowers. Usually a pot with a diameter of about 25 cm is best, so that the plant does not appear too small and does not affect its growth.

3. Planting

It likes alkaline soil, so before planting, you should choose some well-drained, loose and fertile sandy soil to facilitate its later growth, then add some leaf mold and peat soil into it, and then apply a little base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot. Then you can plant the seeds and cover them with a layer of soil to limit its growth.

4. Post-maintenance

After planting the seeds, you need to water them appropriately, and do not allow water to accumulate at the bottom of the pot, otherwise the seeds will be washed out. Then give them diffuse light, because as a potted plant, they have high requirements for sunlight. The sun cannot be too strong, but it needs to be sufficient. Then adjust the temperature, preferably between 18 and 25 degrees, and do not allow the temperature to exceed 28 degrees in summer, otherwise it will affect its growth. Finally, add some fertilizer, preferably compound fertilizer or fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, so that it will soon grow into seedlings.
