How to grow a money tree

How to grow a money tree

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow money trees, you need to use soil with good air permeability. You can use a mixture of peat, coarse sand and coal slag as garden soil. It is best to use slightly acidic soil.

2. Water: It is very drought-resistant, so the soil should be kept slightly moist and dry. Do not over-water in winter, just keep the soil dry.

3. Temperature: Provide it with a growing environment of 20-32℃. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 5℃. When the temperature in summer is higher than 35℃, cooling measures should be taken.

4. Light: Give it sufficient light during maintenance, but do not expose it to strong sunlight. In winter, it needs to be placed in a place with sufficient light. In summer, when the sun is strong, it needs to be covered with a black net to block the light, or it should be placed directly in a cool place for maintenance.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by cuttings: You can use the leaf axis or the leaf axis with leaves as cuttings, insert 1/3 or 1/2 into the soil, then water it thoroughly and place it in a cool place for maintenance, providing it with a growing environment of 25-27℃.

2. Propagation by division: Take the plant out of the potting soil, break it apart from the joint of the tuber, apply some wood ash on the wound and then plant it. Don't plant it too deep, just bury the top 1.5-2cm in the soil.

3. Leaf cutting propagation: Cut off the leaves and insert them into the substrate. When cutting, you can place them flat on the soil or insert them upright. Keep the sand bed slightly moist and they will take root soon.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Brown spot disease: It usually occurs on leaves. Once it is found to harm the leaves, it needs to be removed in time and sprayed with carbendazim wettable powder. Generally, 3-4 sprayings are sufficient.

2. Scale insects: They will harm the leaves of the plants after they occur. After the infestation occurs, you can use tape to stick them off or spray them with cypermethrin wettable powder.
