Can fish be raised in lucky bamboo water?

Can fish be raised in lucky bamboo water?

1. Is it possible?

Because this plant is not poisonous, it will not cause harm to the fish, so there is no problem putting it in. However, in real life, we generally don’t keep fish in it, and there are many reasons for this.

(1) The first reason is that the root system of this plant is very developed, so the space it occupies is very large. So, we can imagine that if we keep it together with fish, they will compete with each other for space, and it would be bad in the end that both sides will suffer.

(2) Second, we mentioned above that its roots are well developed, so its respiration in water will be very strong, and the amount of O2 consumed will be relatively high. It is better during the day, as photosynthesis can be carried out. But at night, it's just breathing. If this continues for a long time, the survival of the fish will become a problem.

(3) Also, this plant is grown in water and generally speaking, you don’t need to change the water; just add some water. Then, the water quality may be a little worse, and in the long run it will not be suitable for fish survival. However, if you must raise it, you need to pay attention to some issues.

2. Notes

(1) When raising fish, our main concern is whether there is enough O2. Therefore, in order to supply enough, you have to pay attention to the root system of lucky bamboo. It is best not to let its root system become too developed.

(2) In addition, if you are raising fish, temperature is a factor that we cannot ignore. It is best to adjust the room temperature higher, controlling it at 18 to 20 degrees.

(3) We can choose fish species such as "Mary" and "Phoenix Tail". Also, do not feed too much. It is enough to feed once every two days, and the amount should be smaller.
