How to plant coral flower seeds

How to plant coral flower seeds

1. Choose the seed

If you want to grow coral flowers, seed selection is an important first step. After the flowers fade every year, we can select some plants with better growth and harvest their seeds. After harvesting, we need to dry the seeds properly and soak them in hot water to sterilize them, which will increase the germination rate of the seeds.

2. Sowing

1. For smaller seeds

When sowing, pay attention to the size of the seeds collected.

If the collected seeds are small, they are difficult to pick up with hands or other tools. Then we can find some toothpicks, wet one end to stick to the seeds, and then place them one by one on the prepared substrate, and then sprinkle 1 cm thick substrate on the planted seeds.

Next, we need to soak the pot. First, we put the pot with the seeds in water. The depth of the water should be half or more of the pot. Let the water slowly seep up until the substrate in the pot is moist.

2. For larger seeds

If the seeds you picked look relatively large, that is, they can be easily picked up by hand or with other tools, we can place them directly in the substrate and sow them according to the spacing we set. After sowing, it is also necessary to cover it with a thin layer of substrate.

3. Post-maintenance

1. Maintenance before germination

After sowing, we need to water it appropriately. At this time, we cannot irrigate it directly. We usually use some sprayers or sprinklers with smaller holes to wet its substrate.

After that, whenever the soil in the pot looks a little dry, we can continue to water it in this way. In addition, when watering, we must pay attention not to use too much force to prevent the seeds from being washed out.

2. Maintenance after germination

If the temperature is too low before the seedlings emerge, you need to cover them with insulation film to keep them warm. However, after the seedlings grow out, you need to remove the film and expose them to the sun appropriately, otherwise the seedlings will grow very weak.
