How to cultivate potted weeping angel

How to cultivate

Dripping Guanyin Matrix

Cultivate with nutrient soil prepared by mixing loose, well-drained and well-ventilated domestic peat, 2:2:1 pond mud, peat soil, coarse sand and a small amount of fermented cake fertilizer. Add water to the peat and mix well (the standard for adding water: after adding water and mixing well, hold a handful of peat in your hand and water will seep out from between your fingers) and wait for planting in the cup.

Dripping Guanyin pot

For old pots that are to be reused, they must be soaked in 2000 times potassium permanganate solution for more than half an hour, then rinsed with clean water and dried for later use. Large potted plants are generally planted in 20cm pots. When planting, first place about 4cm of substrate at the bottom of the cup, and then move the sieved seedlings into the cup. The seedlings should not be planted too deep, and it is better to level the base of the plant; the substrate should be moderately tight and filled to 80% of the cup, 2-3 plants/pot.

Dripping Guanyin watering

The weeping angel particularly likes moisture. During the growing season, it not only requires moist soil in the pot, but also requires the air humidity to be no less than 60%. During the high temperatures in summer, you should increase the amount of watering to create a relatively cool and humid environment for it. If placed in an indoor air-conditioned room, you should ensure that the soil in the pot is moist and spray water on the leaves from time to time. If the room temperature cannot reach 15℃ in winter, watering should be controlled, otherwise it will easily cause root rot of the plant. Generally, spraying warm water once a week can keep the leaves dark green.

Fertilization of Dripping Guanyin

The weeping angel likes fertilizer. From March to October, liquid fertilizer should be applied once every half a month. The proportion of nitrogen can be appropriately increased. It would be better if a little ferrous sulfate could be added. In this way, the leaves will grow as big as lotus leaves and be smooth and pleasant. Fertilizing should be stopped when the temperature is below 15℃.

Trimming of the dripping Guanyin

The weeping angel is a foliage plant. If the sunlight is not appropriate, its largest leaves will turn yellow and dry up. At this time, they should be removed together with the stems, otherwise it will affect the growth and ornamental value of other leaves.

Changing the pot of the weeping angel

You can use leaf mold, peat soil, river sand and a small amount of cake fertilizer to mix to prepare nutrient soil. You can also use hydroponics, but be careful to prevent root rot and add nutrient solution. Usually the pot is changed once a year in spring, and the soil can be loosened once a month to keep it in a good and permeable condition.
