The difference between Schefflera oleifera and Fortune Tree

1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of Schefflera have 6 to 9 leaflets, the petiole is 15 to 30 cm long, the leaflets are papery or leathery, the leaves are elliptical, obovate-elliptical or oblong-elliptical, about 9 to 17 cm long and 3 to 5 cm wide, the tip of the leaves is sharply sharp or gradually sharp, the base is gradually narrowed, cuneate or obtuse, and the margins of the leaves are entire.

The money tree has 5 to 11 leaflets with short petioles or nearly sessile leaves. The leaves are oblong or obovate in shape, gradually becoming pointed at the tip. The leaves are entire and glabrous on the upper side. The back of the leaves and petioles are covered with rusty star-shaped hairs. The central leaflet is 13 to 24 cm long and 4.5 to 8 cm wide, and the outer leaflets gradually become smaller.

2. Flower Differences

The panicle inflorescence of Schefflera is terminal, 20 to 30 cm long, with several to dozens of umbels arranged in racemes, each with 10 to 15 white flowers and 5 to 6 petals.

The flowers of the money tree are solitary in the leaf axils at the top of the branches. The pedicels are thick and 2 cm long. The calyx is cup-shaped and nearly leathery. The petals are light yellow-green, narrowly lanceolate or linear, 15 cm long, and curled at the top.
