1. Difference of blades

The basal leaves of Viola violet are heart-shaped or broadly heart-shaped, the petiole is about 8 cm long, with dense brown glandular dots on both sides, the stem leaves are triangular-cordate or narrowly ovate-cordate, the petiole is short, and the stipules are brown and narrowly lanceolate. The leaves of Viola spicata are all basal, long ovate or broadly ovate, with thin and weak petioles, 2/3 of the stipules fused to the petiole, and the free parts are linear-lanceolate or lanceolate.

2. The difference between flowers

The flowers of purple violet are lavender in color, and the petals are obovate-oblong with brown glandular dots. The flowers of Viola spicata are purple in color and the petals are obovate.
