How to breed Brazilian iron

illumination

Brazilian iron plant likes warm and well-lit environment. It is relatively shade-tolerant and cold-resistant, but it is also afraid of the scorching sun. Therefore, when breeding, it should be placed near the balcony where there is sunlight or sufficient scattered light. The full absorption of light can enable it to carry out photosynthesis well, and the full growth of plants can make the air in the home fresh and easy to breathe.

temperature

The suitable growth temperature for Brazilian iron is between 20-30℃. The warm environment temperature can enable it to carry out photosynthesis and respiration better, making the home full of vitality.

soil

Brazilian iron is suitable for loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam. When planting, it is possible to ensure that the Brazilian ironwood has normal drainage, which can greatly reduce the accumulation of water in the potting soil, prevent root rot, and enable it to grow healthily and vigorously.

Watering

Brazilian iron plant likes a warm and humid environment and climate, so it is necessary to maintain a high air humidity when cultivating Brazilian iron plant. Avoid water accumulation, as water accumulation will cause root rot. Do not water too much during normal times, and wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering.

When winter comes and the temperature drops to 13℃, it will enter a dormant period. At this time, you should reduce watering appropriately and keep the soil in the pot moist and dry; if the soil in the pot is too wet for a long time, it will cause root rot and death of the plant.

Fertilization

The requirements of Brazilian ironwood for fertilizer are not high. During the growth period of young plants, apply thin liquid fertilizer once every 15 days; during the growth period of mature plants, fertilize once every 2 months. Fertilization should be mainly based on phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer, but more nitrogen fertilizer can be applied.
