When does the red spider lily bloom?

When does the red spider lily bloom?

1. Specific flowering period

For this plant, it mainly blooms in two time periods. The first stage is from February to March. The second stage is from July to September. Among these, the flowers in July bloom the best and it is the peak flowering period. According to legend, the flowers that bloom around the spring equinox are called "Spring Beyond", and the flowers that bloom around the autumnal equinox are called "Autumn Beyond". Generally speaking, it blooms very punctually.

2. Flowering precautions

(1) Light: If you want it to bloom on time, light must be guaranteed. However, it does not like too much light. So, just place it where it can receive diffuse light. If there is direct strong light, you can shade it appropriately.

(2) Soil: Because flowering requires sufficient nutrients, the nutrients contained in the soil should be ensured first. In addition, according to the habits and characteristics of this plant, we should choose slightly acidic soil. If the soil is too alkaline, it will become lumpy and the roots will rot due to lack of oxygen, making it impossible for the plants to bloom. Therefore, we can loosen the soil from time to time and sprinkle some ferrous sulfate solution.

(3) Flowerpot: This aspect also affects whether it blooms. If the flowerpot you choose is too small, then the space will be relatively insufficient and will not be able to meet the supply during the flowering period. Therefore, we should choose relatively larger flower pots, so as not to cause growth or developmental problems. In this way, it can also bloom successfully.

(4) Temperature: Before and after its flowering, it is best to ensure that the temperature is appropriate, which is beneficial for its flowering. Specifically, just make sure it is around 24℃.
