The Flower Language of Ice Flower

Flower Language

The flower language of ice flower: selfless love, brave love.

The ice flower, scientifically known as Calendula officinalis, grows under the woods. Also known as marigold, golden cup flower, ice flower, ice flower, etc. In Liaoning area it is called snow lotus. It is a very precious medicinal material and also a good ornamental plant. The opening time is the cold season in late winter and early spring when the ice and snow have not yet melted. Little by little, the flower buds with green calyx and yellow tops broke through the ice silently, like blooming "golden basins".

legend

Legend has it that Binglinghua is a beautiful, dignified and pure girl. Because of her gentleness and virtue, everyone in the village likes her very much. At the beginning of one year, the weather was cold and the village suffered a severe ice disaster. Spring was late in coming and people had eaten up all the food for the winter. Seeing everyone collapse from hunger, Bing Linghua was extremely anxious and prayed to God: "Great God, please let crops grow in the fields soon. Save the children, save the old people, save everyone!" God was very moved when he heard this.

One night, Bing Linghua dreamed of an old man with a white beard who said to her, "Can you walk barefoot through the mountains, rivers and fields in the ice and snow?" "Yes," Bing Linghua answered firmly. After saying that, the old man handed her a packet of seeds. Then the old man disappeared. When she woke up, she found a packet of seeds in her hand. She ran barefoot to the field, and as she ran she turned back and scattered seeds in her footprints. The blood from the soles of her feet nourished the seeds, and soon small green sprouts grew. Then I saw small yellow flowers poking out from the snow. These little flowers saved the lives of the entire village. In order to thank the girl for saving their lives, people called this small flower "Ice Flower".

Meaning

In ancient times, people often used wintersweet to represent their noble sentiments, taking the quality of plum blossoms as the standard. However, in the snowy northern country, the ice flower breaks through the ice with its fragile body and blooms proudly alone. It is more resilient than the plum blossom, and can withstand the severe cold better than the plum blossom. Just as many people grow orchids because they represent the integrity of a gentleman and are a role model for them to learn from, the same is true for growing ice flowers. People who understand it and know it will be deeply attracted to it the moment they see it.
