What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum comosum become soft and droopy

What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum comosum become soft and droopy

1. Replace the potting soil

Reason: The roots of silver-edged spider plant are fleshy roots, and the substrate used for cultivation must have good air permeability and drainage. If it is grown in relatively thick soil, the leaves will become soft and droop.

Solution: It is best to change the soil as soon as possible. It is better to replace it with loose, breathable, slightly acidic soil, which is very beneficial to its growth and will not cause root rot due to poor drainage.

2. Supplementary lighting

Reason: The plant is suitable for growing in semi-shaded areas, but it also needs to receive appropriate amounts of light during maintenance. If the growing environment is relatively dark, the plant will wilt and the leaves will become soft and droop.

Solution: You need to immediately move the potted plant to a sunny place so that it can receive as much sunlight as possible. It is recommended to provide it with a growing environment with sufficient diffuse light. However, it should not be exposed to direct strong sunlight.

3. Rehydrate in time

Reason: The plant needs water to maintain its growth process. If it is not watered for a long time or the air is too dry, the whole plant will become soft.

Solution: Water the plant in time to create a moist growing environment for it. Also, spray water on the plant and the ground frequently. The humidity of the breeding environment should not be too low.
