What to do if Milan has root rot

1. Replace the soil

Reason: If there is a problem with the pH of the soil, or if the drainage and air permeability are poor, it can easily lead to root rot.

Solution: Replace the soil with loose, well-drained and breathable slightly acidic soil. Do not use saline-alkaline soil.

2. Reduce watering

Reason: Although Milan likes water, it cannot be watered too much. Excessive watering for a long time will cause its roots to be unable to breathe, and suffocation will cause root rot.

Solution: Take it out and put it in the sun to dry for half an hour, then change the soil. Be sure to control the amount of watering at ordinary times, and avoid water accumulation. Take drainage measures in time during the rainy season. Watering should be based on the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering thoroughly. Generally, watering once every two days is enough.

3. Apply fertilizer appropriately

Cause: Excessive fertilization or improper fertilization methods can easily cause root damage. Too much fertilizer will burn the roots, and a humid environment will cause root rot.

Solution: Apply an appropriate amount of fully decomposed fertilizer. Generally, apply thin fertilizer once half a month. Do not apply alkaline fertilizer. Fertilization should follow the principle of applying thin fertilizer frequently. Do not apply concentrated fertilizer. In spring, you can apply appropriate top dressing, generally once every 7-10 days.
