What to do if lily leaves turn yellow

What to do if lily leaves turn yellow

1. Reasonable watering

Excessive watering, including too much watering at one time or watering too frequently, will cause the plant to turn yellow. At this time, we should reduce the frequency and amount of watering, and must not allow water to accumulate in the potting soil. If the plant is watered too little, it will turn yellow due to drought. At this time, we need to increase the frequency of watering appropriately and then water it normally after the leaves recover.

2. Correct fertilization

Similar to watering, too much or too little fertilizer may cause yellow leaves. If there is too much fertilizer, you can dilute the concentration of the fertilizer by watering appropriately, or directly change the soil for the flowers. If you need less fertilizer, you can apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer, but you cannot apply too much fertilizer at one time, and the concentration of the fertilizer cannot be too high.

3. Supplement iron

The lack of certain elements may also cause its leaves to turn yellow, such as iron. The lack of this element is particularly harmful to young leaves and may even cause the death of the entire plant. If this phenomenon occurs, we can spray it according to the ratio of ferrous sulfate: cake fertilizer: water = 5:7:200.

4. Eliminate pests and diseases

In addition to the above reasons, diseases or insect pests may cause the leaves of this plant to turn yellow. Once we discover the presence of disease or pest, we must take immediate action. If a disease occurs, we can spray the corresponding antibiotics in time. If insect pests occur, spray the corresponding pesticides in time.

5. Loosen the soil

If the soil becomes compacted and too hard, the roots of the plants cannot absorb nutrients from the soil well, and it is not conducive to the root breathing. At this time, we need to loosen the soil in time or replace the potting soil directly.
