What to do if the Golden Tiger Cactus turns yellow

What to do if the Golden Tiger Cactus turns yellow

1. Excessive watering

Symptom analysis: If the Golden Tiger Cactus is kept together with other plants that need frequent watering, its surface may turn yellow and mucus may flow out. More seriously, too much water may cause root rot.

Solution: This depends on the extent of root rot in the plant. If the area exceeds one-third, it is better to plant a new one. If it is only a small part, you can cut off the rotten part and place it in a place with softer soil, away from light, and water it by spraying. It will recover after a period of time.

2. Dormancy

Reason for yellowing: Like most plants, this plant also has a growing period and a dormant period. Growth is most evident in summer, while dormancy occurs in winter. Therefore, during the winter dormancy period, the amount of watering must be strictly controlled to avoid root rot and yellowing of the plant itself.

Treatment method: If the above situation is met, remove the plant from the soil and remove the rotten roots, repot it, or change the potting soil to a new one, and move it to the most suitable environment and take good care of it.

3. Severe water shortage

Long-term lack of water or frequent exposure to the sun will cause the plant to suffer from severe water shortage, resulting in yellowing.

I believe every flower lover can deal with this situation calmly. Move it to a cool place with good lighting, water it regularly, and after a little care for a period of time, it will turn green again.

4. Pests and diseases

When talking about abnormalities in plants, diseases and insect pests may be the first reaction of flower lovers. In fact, the symptoms of diseases and pests of Golden Tiger Cactus are far more terrible than turning yellow. If the plant is seriously infected by pests and diseases, the bulb may wither, rot or even die. Therefore, during daily maintenance, you should pay more attention to whether the plants have pests or even hidden dangers of diseases and pests.

Treatment method: For "natural disasters" such as pests and diseases, careful care is one aspect. If you really find pests, you should consult and choose the correct pesticide to kill them immediately.
