Spring soybeans: The time for planting soybeans in southern regions is generally from February to March, or early April. The climate in the northern region is cold, so the best time to plant soybeans is April to May.

Summer soybeans: July to August is better in the northern region, and June to July is better in the southern region.

Autumn soybeans: The planting time for autumn soybeans in the south or the north is before September.

How to grow soybeans?

1. Select the land

If you want to grow high-yield soybeans, you still have to choose a better piece of land. It is best to choose a field with convenient irrigation and drainage, fertile soil, loose and breathable soil, no pests and diseases, no bacteria, and high terrain. Before planting, prepare the land, spread 2,000 kilograms of decomposed fertilizer and 50 kilograms of quicklime powder per mu, use agricultural machinery to thoroughly and evenly mix the fertilizer and soil, and make ridges or flat beds. The length and width are determined by yourself, and the ditch depth is 25 centimeters to facilitate rainwater drainage and prevent water accumulation.

2. Seed selection

Select seeds that are full and not worm-eaten, moldy, shriveled or damaged. Spread out the seeds and place them in warm sunshine for a few hours to kill bacteria on the surface of the seeds. In order to increase the seed germination rate, you can soak the seeds in 30℃ clean water for 6 hours, let the seeds absorb water and sow them immediately. Of course, you can also sow them directly without soaking the seeds.

3. Planting seeds

Soybeans can be sown directly or sown to raise seedlings and then transplanted and planted. Most farmers choose direct seeding. They can sow by digging furrows or holes. The sowing depth is 3 to 5 cm. If there is wood ash, you can sprinkle some on the seeds. After covering the soil, water the soil until it is moist if it is dry, and then spray the entire ground with herbicide to prevent weed growth in the future. Seedlings will emerge about 7 days after sowing. If they do not emerge, supplement them in time.

4. Field management

Soybean field management is mainly divided into topdressing management, soil loosening, weeding, disease and pest prevention, etc. Top dressing is generally nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. The first top dressing fertilizer is applied deeply to help the seedlings grow. Use 10 kg of urea and 10 kg of superphosphate per mu. For the second application of flower and pod fertilizer, use 10 kg of urea and 20 kg of superphosphate per mu and apply it deeply. It is best to apply fertilizer after rain, and keep a certain distance between the fertilizer and the rhizome.

If conditions permit, it is best to carry out inter-row cultivation to loosen the soil , which can improve the soil's air permeability, retain moisture, and also have the effect of weeding. Promote the growth of rhizobia in soybean seedlings as soon as possible, and frequently till the soybeans in the early stage, which is conducive to the root system to grow deep and improve the ability to resist drought. Disease prevention includes thiophanate-methyl, carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl; pest prevention includes trichlorfon, dichlorvos or imidacloprid.
