When and how to repot jasmine

When and how to repot jasmine

1. When to change the pot

Jasmine needs to be repotted once a year. Its root system is relatively developed, so replacing it with a larger pot will make it more suitable for growth. Repotting is actually not very troublesome. It can be done in all four seasons of the year. The best time is in March and April in spring. At this time, the growth has not yet begun and the flower buds have not yet sprouted, so the consumption of nutrients is relatively small, and the impact on jasmine is relatively small. In addition, the climate at this time is mild and suitable, which is very suitable for growth and development.

You can also change the pot at other times, but you need to pay more attention. If you want to change the pot in summer, you need to only change the pot without cleaning up the old potting soil. If you want to change the pot in autumn and winter, you need to ensure a good temperature and not let the surrounding temperature be too low. You also need to control watering.

2. How to change the pot

1. Removing the pot: Stop fertilizing a few days before repotting and control watering so that the soil in the pot is not too wet. First use a shovel to loosen the surrounding soil, then remove the attached old soil without damaging the root system.

2. Pruning: Prune off the old and rotten roots underneath, cut off the yellow leaves on the plant, and disinfect the roots in a solution of carbendazim.

3. Potting: Prepare a suitable flowerpot, fill it with soil, plant the jasmine in the middle, and take good care of it.
