1. Choose the variety

Before planting, you need to choose a good variety. If you are a novice, you must choose the right one to plant. And you need to choose suitable varieties according to the region you are in. Some varieties are not suitable for growing in the cold northern regions, such as blue stone lotus and hairy starfish.

2. Prepare the soil

The flowerpot must have good air permeability, and it is best to have drainage holes at the bottom so that the water can be drained out quickly after excessive watering. The soil should also be loose and breathable, and have certain nutrients. It should be exposed to the sun and disinfected before being put into the pot.

3. Pruning the root system

Before planting succulents, you need to trim the roots properly, especially if you buy them online, you should trim the roots. The main thing is to cut off those weak and dry fibrous roots, as the root growth condition will directly affect the plant's absorption of nutrients.

4. Start Planting

After preparing the potting soil, you need to use a chopstick or a hard object to poke a hole in the soil, place the roots of the plant in the hole, and continue to fill the soil until its roots are buried. Be careful not to cover the leaves with soil.
