How to grow dianthus in spring

How to grow dianthus in spring

1. Supplement nutrients

Dianthus is a plant that likes fertilizer. If the nutrient supply is insufficient, it will easily become malnourished, so it needs to be topdressed. Before planting new plants, you need to add base fertilizer to the soil to avoid insufficient nutrient supply; old plants need to be fertilized once every 15 days. Because the frequency of fertilization is relatively fast, you should try to use fertilizers with mild effects to avoid fertilizer damage.

2. Control the temperature

The temperature in early spring is relatively low and the climate changes rapidly, so try not to maintain it outdoors. For plants grown indoors, the growth temperature should be controlled at around 20 degrees. If it is too high or too low, the plants will stop growing. If the temperature is too high, you can spray water around it to cool it down.

3. Increase watering

It is a moisture-loving plant. When the temperature is low, it should be watered once every two days, and when the temperature is high, it needs to be watered every morning and evening. Do not water too much, just water until the soil is completely moist, but there is no water accumulation. Watering in early spring should be avoided when it is cold, otherwise the water temperature will drop and the plants may be easily frozen.

4. Accept light

Dianthus has a relatively large demand for light during its growing period. For home care, it can be placed in a place with sufficient sunlight for the entire day. By the end of spring, the sunlight will become stronger and you need to move it to a cooler place to avoid the sun.
