Cultivation methods and precautions of ground juniper

Cultivation methods and precautions of ground juniper

1. Watering

It likes a humid environment and usually needs to be watered every three to five days to keep it moist, but not waterlogged. When the temperature is high, increase the amount of water and sprinkle more water around the plants to cool them down. Each time you water, make sure to water thoroughly until water seeps out from the bottom of the pot.

2. Fertilization

Do not fertilize frequently during maintenance. Its demand for fertilizer is not large. It is sufficient to fertilize once a month during the growing season. Choose fertilizer with low concentration. You can use diluted organic fertilizer or cake fertilizer to avoid root burn by concentrated fertilizer.

3. Lighting

It likes a semi-shady environment and usually needs scattered light. It should be avoided in time when the light is strong in summer, otherwise it will burn the plant and affect its growth. In addition, pay attention to more ventilation and the environment should not be too stuffy.

4. Temperature

It has poor cold resistance and it is difficult for it to survive the cold winter safely on its own, so it needs human help. The temperature should be maintained above 10 degrees in winter, so it should be moved indoors and the temperature should be controlled after the temperature drops. If the temperature is below 10 degrees, it will get frostbite, which will affect its growth next year. It may not be able to survive the winter and will freeze to death.

5. Notes

During the maintenance period, it is easy to cause diseases and pests, such as aphids, red spiders, etc., especially in high temperatures or rainy seasons. When it is discovered, spray pesticides in time to prevent and control it. You can use omethoate. In addition, it is also susceptible to rust and also requires spraying with pesticides to treat it.
