How to grow whale flower

How to grow whale flower

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Whale flower likes warmth, and the temperature suitable for its growth is between 18 and 22 degrees, so it also needs to be kept warm in winter and not too cold. The normal temperature for wintering is above 10 degrees. If conditions permit, it can be kept above 15 degrees so that it will not be affected.

2. Watering: Water frequently during the growth period, but reduce watering during the flowering period to ensure normal flowering. You can also replenish water by spraying water mist, which can also lower the temperature of the leaves in summer.

3. Light: Whale flower prefers a semi-shaded environment, so strong light is unacceptable. If exposed to strong light, its flowers will wither or die directly. At the same time, it is best to let it receive warm light, preferably scattered light. An environment that is too dark is also not acceptable, as this will affect flowering and growth.

4. Fertilization: Whale flower is a fertilizer-loving plant. During the growth period, you need to apply some liquid fertilizer to it from time to time, about once every fifteen days. However, you cannot continue to fertilize during the flowering period, otherwise it will make the flowers fall faster.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Cutting and sowing are two important methods of reproduction. Both methods can be carried out in spring and autumn. After cutting, the temperature needs to be kept at around 20 degrees, and then water it more. It will germinate in about three weeks. When sowing, you need to choose round seeds, cover them with plastic wrap, and place them in a cool and ventilated place. They will germinate in about ten days.

2. Pruning: In order to ensure a good plant shape during the growth process, appropriate pruning can be done to make it bloom more vigorously.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Whale flower rarely suffers from diseases. Excessive watering may cause the flowers to fall frequently, so you need to pay attention.

2. Pests: Pests rarely occur. As long as you pay attention to ventilation and light, there will be almost no pests.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic. Due to its special appearance, it is usually sought after and loved by many people.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, it has a very high ornamental value, is non-toxic, and is beneficial and harmless to the human body.
