Cultivation methods and precautions of flower peony

Plant habits

First of all, because it is native to low latitudes, it particularly likes warm sunshine, and what it needs more than temperature is light. Because the plant is relatively cold-resistant, temperature is not our primary consideration. In addition, it has some requirements for the characteristics of the soil, which we will introduce in detail below. Also, it requires a lot of water, but water cannot accumulate. Another thing is to maintain good ventilation.

Specific methods

Sunlight: Providing sufficient sunlight can not only promote plants to accumulate nutrients through photosynthesis, but also improve their resistance to various diseases. Therefore, for a plant that has a very high demand for sunlight, we must not keep it in the shade for a long time. This plant is mainly distributed in the southern region, where sunlight is relatively abundant, so we just need to avoid over-shading the plant. However, if the sun is particularly strong at noon, appropriate shading measures should be provided.

Water: Please note that when we say that plants require more water, we are referring to their growing season. In winter, we almost don't need to water the plants, just let the soil dry out. Also, it is best to let the soil dry out completely before each watering.

Soil: Because the plant has thick fleshy roots, it requires a relatively deep soil layer. In addition, drainage is also a factor we need to consider. It is best to choose sandy soil or similar soil.

Ventilation: Don’t ignore it. You don’t need to worry about plants grown outdoors, but it’s mainly indoor potted plants that need regular ventilation.

Precautions

Because the plant has a tuberous root system, it is very sensitive to soil that contains a small amount of humus.
