Cultivation methods and precautions of blood leaf orchid

Cultivation methods and precautions of blood leaf orchid

1. Suitable breeding

In the process of breeding it, we can allow it to reproduce appropriately, usually in spring and autumn. It is sufficient to divide the plants every three years. As long as the plant is growing healthily, you can divide the densely packed pseudobulbs. Before dividing the plants, reduce the amount of watering and keep the soil in the pot relatively dry. After dividing the plants, you can start potting them. Generally, the small hole under the pot is covered with some broken tiles, then covered with some coarse sand, and then planted with sandy loam.

2. Reasonable watering

When the blood leaf orchid is growing vigorously, if there is a lack of water in the summer. It will slow down its growth. So it is necessary to water it. Generally speaking, water it when it is dry. If it is moist, there is no need to water it. Just let it be slightly dry. When watering, remember to water it thoroughly, and don't water it halfway. The frequency of watering depends on the planting material in the pot. The best time for watering is in the morning or evening when the sunlight is not very strong. It is best not to water at noon. You also need to use some clean, unpolluted water, preferably slightly acidic. This will allow it to grow more vigorously.

3. Fertilization

When applying fertilizer, people usually choose some farmyard manure, but you must remember to let it pile up for more than a year before using it. When applying fertilizer, try to apply it on the edge of the pot, avoid touching its roots and leaves. When using chemical fertilizers, you should also pay attention to the concentration of the fertilizer. Generally, when fertilizing it, it is mainly sprayed on the leaves, so that it can absorb nutrients better and will not damage its roots. This is the best fertilization method for it. When the growth is best, it is generally sufficient to apply it every 10 to 15 days. At other times not much fertilizer is needed.
