When is rapeseed harvested?

The best time to harvest rapeseed is in summer and autumn. Harvesting should be done in the morning, and it is best to harvest when there is dew. Be careful to cut, place and transport the rapeseed gently, otherwise it will easily be damaged.

It takes about two months for rapeseed to bloom and then end its flowering period. After the flowering period, it will produce rapeseed. It takes about a month for the rapeseed to mature. Be careful not to harvest it too early or too late.

Rapeseed harvest

The rapeseed harvesting season in the north and south is very different. For example, rapeseed in the south can be harvested around May to July each year, while rapeseed in the north can only be harvested around August.

Rapeseed Origin and Yield

Rapeseed is produced in many places in my country, mainly in the Yangtze River Basin. Common producing areas include Sichuan, Anhui, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Hunan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Guizhou, etc., among which Sichuan has the largest planting area.

The yield of rapeseed is about 300-400 jin per mu. If the planted variety is good, and the management is proper and the weather is good, the yield can be appropriately increased.
