How to keep roses alive

1. Select cuttings

Choose a rose that is growing vigorously and pick off all its leaves to avoid water loss. Generally, soil-grown roses are about 15 centimeters long. Cut the lower part obliquely to expose its meristem, then disinfect and dry it.

2. Choose the matrix

You can choose a disposable beverage bottle and split it in two, put the soil at the bottom of the bottle and water the soil thoroughly. You can add charcoal powder to the soil, which has a loose texture and is water-repellent and moisturizing.

3. Cutting method

Use a small wooden stick to poke a hole, then insert the rose into the hole, compact the soil slightly, sprinkle some water next to the flowerpot, and then cover the bottle mouth. It usually takes about fifteen to twenty days for it to take root. After the roots of the rose seedlings grow to the bottom of the cup, you can transplant it.
