Advantages and disadvantages of Vesalius rose: Is it a climbing rose or a shrub rose?

Vesalius is a shrub rose , a variety cultivated artificially. It has been bred and marketed for less than ten years. It is now widely planted all over the world. It performs well in terms of flower shape, color, fragrance, abundant flowering, frequent flowering, and disease resistance. It can be said to be a nearly perfect variety.

Advantages of Vesalius rose

The Vesalius rose has a medium-sized flower shape, about 8 cm in diameter, with petals tightly wrapped together. The center of the flower is lavender with a little pink, and the outer petals are flawless white. The flower shape is delicate, the posture is elegant, and it is highly ornamental.

During the flowering process, the Vesalius rose will emit a very strong fragrance, a typical old rose fragrance, strong but not turbid, refreshing and distant. The fragrance can be smelled from a long distance, and the fragrance becomes stronger as it blooms.

If the Vesalius rose is maintained in a suitable environment, it can bloom all year round. The flowers are the most beautiful and the colors are bright in spring and autumn. Although the quality of the flowers blooming in summer is slightly worse, they are still beautiful. The number of flowers is amazing, with twenty or thirty flowers blooming on one branch at the same time.

Disadvantages of Vesalius Rose

The Vesalius rose has a tall plant shape and is generally recommended to be planted in the ground. It is not suitable for potted maintenance. It also has high requirements for sunlight and must be grown in a sunny environment. Only with sufficient sunlight can it grow well.

Vesalius Maintenance Tips

When planting Vesalius roses in pots, choose larger pots, at least two gallons, and five gallons or more is better. The soil should be nutrient soil specially for growing flowers, and it is better to mix it with a little garden soil. Place it in a well-lit and ventilated place, preferably a terrace or south balcony .

Vesalius likes a humid environment. Water it about once a week, or when the soil is dry. If conditions permit, fertilize it with water-soluble fertilizer about once every ten days. Prune away blind branches, dead branches and flowers in time. That's all.
