Planting method and time of Polygonatum sibiricum What is the best time for transplanting?

Suitable planting time

The planting time of Polygonatum sibiricum is in spring. Due to different regions, the planting time is also different. The southern region warms up faster and can generally be planted around March, while the northern region is better planted around April.

We try not to plant in summer and winter, because too hot or too cold an environment is not conducive to the growth of seedlings and will seriously affect its survival rate.

Polygonatum sibiricum planting methods and key points

1. Polygonatum sibiricum can be planted using rhizomes. Choose 1-2 year old healthy and disease-free rhizomes, cut them into several sections first, and make sure each section has 3-4 nodes. Then dry the wounds and plant them in the soil with a row spacing of 22-24 cm, a plant spacing of 10-16 cm, and a depth of 5 cm.

2. Polygonatum sibiricum can also be planted using seeds. When its seeds are mature, they can be picked immediately and stored in the sand. Wait until the second year to sift out the seeds, and then spread them evenly in shallow trenches with a row spacing of 12-15 cm. Then do a good job of moisturizing, and its seeds will soon germinate.

Points to note in daily management of Polygonatum

After planting, Polygonatum needs to be well maintained. The soil needs to be kept moist on a daily basis. In the early stage of its growth, the land should be cultivated and weeded frequently. It can also be fertilized to promote the vigorous growth of Polygonatum. It should be noted that it is not resistant to waterlogging, so it needs to be drained in time during the rainy season.
