Planting method and time of red kidney beans, suitable temperature for planting

Suitable planting time for red kidney beans

Red kidney beans like to grow in a warm environment, and their seeds will germinate when the temperature reaches 8-12℃. According to the growth habits of red kidney beans, they can be sown in spring from April to May. If it is summer, they can be sown in late July to early August.

Red Kidney Bean Planting Methods and Key Points

1. When selecting seeds, choose seeds with full grains and no diseases or insects. When sowing, choose a sunny day, spread the seeds, and turn them over and dry them in the sun for 1-2 days before sowing. You can also soak the seeds in an ammonium molybdate aqueous solution for 12 hours, take them out, and dry them before sowing.

2. When sowing, the ground temperature must be around 8℃. You can sow in holes or in rows. Ensure that the amount of seeds is 4-5 kg for every 660 square meters. The sowing depth needs to be 3-5 cm, and the seeds should be pressed down with soil after sowing.

Points to note in daily management of red kidney beans

After planting red kidney beans, check and supplement the seedlings in time, carry out tillage and weeding in early to mid-June, and weed and cultivate the soil in early to mid-July during the initial flowering period.

We also need to water it after the flowering period, and apply foliar fertilizer in mid-to-late July. For every 660 square meters, 150 grams of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 400 grams of urea are needed, diluted with water. When controlling aphids, 50% anti-aphid wettable powder can be used for spraying, which can make the red kidney beans grow better.
