What vegetables are suitable for growing in foam boxes

The foam box is large in size, and you can grow some vegetables in it, but compared to the field, it is relatively small in size, so it is suitable for growing small vegetables. It also has poor drainage and is suitable for vegetables that prefer a humid environment. If you dig a few drainage holes at the bottom, then most vegetables can be planted, including cabbage, broccoli, eggplant, pepper, tomato, cucumber, etc.

1. Cabbage

Cabbage can be planted in foam boxes. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained soil. The seeds need to be soaked in clean water and then placed in an environment of 20-25 degrees for germination. After about three days of successful germination, they can be sown in the soil.

2. Broccoli

Broccoli can be planted in a foam box, but drainage holes should be dug at the bottom to increase air permeability, and then filled with fertile, breathable acidic soil. At the same time, some base fertilizer should be added to the soil. The plants also need to be watered every 5 to 6 days, and attention should be paid to drainage measures.

3. Eggplant

Eggplant can be planted in foam boxes. You must choose the right time when planting eggplant. Generally, if it is cultivated in the open field, it is carried out around April. For areas with warm climates, it can be planted in March. If it is planted in a greenhouse, because the temperature can be adjusted within a suitable range, it can be planted even in winter.

4. Chili

Peppers can be planted in foam boxes. When planting, provide loose, organic-rich, well-drained soil. The temperature during the growth period should be controlled between 20-35 degrees. It grows relatively fast and seedlings will emerge about a week after planting.

5. Cucumber

Cucumbers can be planted in foam boxes. They have strong adaptability to the environment and can grow vigorously in ordinary soil. They are widely planted in my country. After sowing, they can be watered thoroughly once to keep the soil slightly moist.
