Mint seeds grow in the fruit of the plant. After the flowering period of the plant every year, the seeds will slowly grow out. Its seeds are very, very small and can be spread by wind and water.

Mint seed planting time

Mint seeds are sown in spring and autumn. Spring sowing is recommended in the north, from March to April, and autumn sowing is recommended in the south, from October to November. The climate at this time is more suitable.

How to Plant Mint Seeds

1. Soaking and germination

Before planting, soak the mint seeds in 40℃ warm water for 3-5 hours, then place them in a wet paper towel to germinate. They will turn white after about a day.

2. Spreading and covering soil

Sow the seeds on the soil, cover with about 5 mm of soil, then water the pot, or you can use a watering can to water it, then put a plastic bag on the pot to keep the soil moist.

3. Transplant to pot

It will germinate about a week after sowing. During this period, the temperature should be controlled at around 20℃. Wait until there are 2-3 pairs of true leaves before transplanting into the pot. It needs to be watered thoroughly once.
