How long is the kiwi fruit period? Fruit maintenance and management methods

How long does kiwi fruit last?

The kiwifruit season is generally from August to October. It takes about 5 years for kiwifruit to bear fruit, and kiwifruit generally enters the fruit swelling period in May.

Kiwifruit ripening time

Kiwifruit generally matures in autumn, which is from September to November. During the growing period, it needs timely watering and fertilization to meet the growth needs of the plant. This will increase the yield and quality of the fruit and will also produce fruit earlier.

Kiwifruit fruit maintenance and management

1. Thinning fruits

Trees that bear too much fruit will stop growing after setting fruit, generally half a month after flowering. Abnormal fruits, disabled fruits, sun-damaged fruits, diseased fruits, and strong fruits can be picked off.

2. Apply strong fruit fertilizer

Kiwifruit also needs to be fertilized during the fruiting period, which is beneficial to improving the quality of the fruit. Root irrigation or drip irrigation can be used, and the fertilizers are mainly nitrogen fertilizers, potassium fertilizers and organic fertilizers. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea can also be sprayed on the leaves once every 7 days, for 2-3 times.

During the kiwifruit fruiting period, you can use Hailibao and high-potassium and high-calcium fertilizer Jiameili. This will allow the kiwifruit to expand and sweeten on schedule, promote the growth of photosynthetic products, and improve the quality and storage resistance of the kiwifruit. At the same time, it can increase the branches, make the branches mature faster, and enhance the cold resistance of the kiwifruit tree.

3. Fruit bagging

Bagging can avoid sunburn, prevent dust and pesticides from contaminating the surface of the fruit, reduce pre-harvest fruit drop, extend storage life, improve the appearance and extractability of the fruit, etc., thereby increasing the price of commercial fruits. It is best to choose paper bags with good air permeability and soft texture. Stop bagging about 25 days after flowering. Bagging too early can easily damage the stems and result in low yields. Bagging too late will not be obvious.
