Rapeseed sowing method

Rapeseed sowing method

Rapeseed sowing time

The best time to sow rapeseed seeds is from August to November each year. The rapeseed seeds sown during this period have the highest germination rate and the best growth.

Rapeseed seeds are planted in areas south of the Huaihe River, usually in October-November. They begin to bloom from south to north in March of the following year, lasting 4-5 months. In areas north of the Huaihe River, they are planted in October and bloom in late March to late April in spring, lasting 5-6 months.

Rapeseed summer sowing

Rapeseed cannot be planted in summer. Although rapeseed is a heat-resistant plant, the seedling plants cannot survive in a high temperature environment. Therefore, rapeseed cannot be planted in summer. If you want to plant rapeseed, it is best to sow it in spring so that the rapeseed can survive the summer smoothly.

Rapeseed sowing method

Before sowing rapeseed, you can apply some base fertilizer to the soil to improve soil fertility and increase the oxygen content in the soil to facilitate the breathing of young shoots. After the soil is turned over, wait about 2-3 days and then you can sow seeds on the turned soil.

After the seeds are sown, you can cover them with a thin layer of soil, which is generally about 1.5 cm thick. Water them slightly and keep them in a semi-shaded environment. You can see its seedlings in about 5 days. They are very small at the beginning, but they will slowly grow up after a few days.

Rapeseed sowing management

1. Before sowing rapeseed, you can put the seeds in the sun to dry for 3 to 4 hours, then soak them in 50-degree warm water for 20-30 minutes, and then put them in 20-30-degree warm water for 2-3 hours. Take them out and dry them before sowing, or place them in an environment of 15-20 degrees to germinate, and sow them after all the sprouts emerge in 24 hours.

2. Rapeseed seeds will grow seedlings seven days after sowing. When raising seedlings, you can use humus soil with rich organic matter content and loose soil as the seedbed. Before raising seedlings, you can also mix decomposed organic fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer, and urea into the soil to increase the fertilizer content in the soil.

3. After the rapeseed seeds germinate, many weeds will grow. They need to be carefully removed without damaging the seedlings. Then the seedlings will grow bigger and bigger. It is necessary to provide it with enough water, but not too much. Too much will cause the roots to rot or even die. It is also necessary to provide it with proper light. After about 25 days, it can be harvested and eaten.
