Main classification of gerbera

Potted type

The main characteristics of potted gerberas are that they have a continuous flowering period, rich and varied flower colors, a short growing period, and high prolific flowering.

Cut flower type

The main characteristics of cut-flower gerberas are that their pedicels are straight and their flowers are large in diameter. They can bloom all year round, have a long flowering period, are easy to appreciate, and have a long life in a vase.

Main categories of gerbera cut flowers

Gerbera is mostly used as cut flowers. Cut flowers can be divided into single, semi-double and double types according to their petals. They can also be divided into red, yellow, pink, orange and white series according to their colors.

Red

Among the red gerberas, common cut flower varieties include "Travisa", which is a single-petal large-flowered variety with a high yield. "Shanghai" is characterized by a black heart and larger flowers. 'Tramasima', large flowers and long life. "Sangarella" has large double flowers with bright colors. "Camerdodi" has double petals and a darker color.

Yellow

Common varieties of yellow gerbera include "yellow dots", double petals, and large flowers. 'Traphem' has large single-petal flowers that are light yellow in color. "Mirigod" has double petals and a black center, which is very beautiful.

Pink

The pink gerbera, called 'Esteli', has pink flowers with black centers and is relatively large in shape. "Tebomba" also has a black flower center and a long flower stalk. "Trakowin" is the main cultivated variety.

Orange

The orange gerbera variety, California, has large, neatly shaped flowers. 'Tlacombe', which has a high yield, is the main cultivated variety. 'Kalimatni', the center of the flower is yellow-green.

White

There are relatively few white gerbera varieties, and "Osivia" is one of the most productive. 'Tlaminte' is a large flower with medium yield.
