When to plant onions in spring

Summer is suitable for planting from June to July. The seeds can be processed before planting to facilitate growth. The seeds need to be turned over and dried first, and then soaked in 45-degree warm water. During the soaking process, you can gently rub the seeds with your hands, which can remove the wax layer on the surface of the seeds and facilitate seedling cultivation.

When to plant onions in fall

The best time to plant onions is from September to October in autumn, because the temperature in most areas during this period is relatively cool, and its germination rate is high. If planted in hot weather, the germination rate will be lower.

When to plant onions in winter

It is possible to plant onions in late October in winter. Before planting, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. When leveling the land, you can sprinkle appropriate amount of chlorpyrifos to prevent pests. At the same time, you can spray herbicides to remove weeds.
