How to survive the winter in hydroponic Anthurium

1. Temperature

The temperature needs to be guaranteed because the temperature in winter is not suitable for most plants. However, it can grow normally above five degrees Celsius, so there is generally no need to worry. When the temperature is lower than required for normal growth, heating facilities must be used.

2. Lighting

Because it does not need a lot of sunlight, even though there is little light in winter, we don't have to worry too much. As long as we place it in an environment with scattered light, it can grow well.

3. Change water

Changing water has its own function. First, it is to ensure that there is sufficient oxygen in it so that its roots can grow normally. Secondly, it is also to prevent the water from deteriorating and causing bacteria to be produced, thus affecting its normal growth. Generally speaking, there is a method to change water. We cannot simply pour it out and replace it with new one. It is best to provide it with part old water and part new water. In addition, the new water we replace also needs to be exposed to the sun, and the temperature should be no different from the room temperature. Generally, we change the water every ten to fifteen days. While doing this, you can also add some nutrient solution so that it can absorb nutrients well.

4. Cleaning

If moss grows, we need to clean it off because it consumes oxygen and the roots will not breathe as smoothly.

5. Nutrient solution

In winter, we need to spray nutrient solution on the surface of its leaves, so that its resistance to low temperatures will be enhanced and the leaves will be more shiny.
