Sowing timeNot all times of the year are suitable for growing daylilies. Due to differences in temperature, sunlight and other conditions, different planting times often lead to different yields. Therefore, choosing a suitable sowing time is very important. Daylily seeds mature in midsummer and are best sown immediately after harvesting. Firstly, the better climatic conditions in autumn help it grow healthily, and secondly, the seeds have not been stored and have the best germination ability. Soil selectionCompared with many other flowers that have more stringent requirements for planting soil, daylilies do not have very high requirements for planting soil. It has strong vitality and can adapt to both humid environments and relatively water-scarce environments. It can adapt to both sunny environments and semi-shady environments. It also has strong cold resistance and can overwinter outdoors in the north. Generally speaking, planting soil with a certain drainage capacity and a high compost content can meet its normal growth needs. Sowing methodWhen planting in flower pots at home, you can first choose a flower pot of appropriate size and fill it with 90% planting soil. Then spread the seeds on the soil surface. Be careful to sow the seeds in appropriate amounts and not too much. Otherwise, the resources in the flowerpot will not be sufficient to support the growth of the young plants, which will cause the young plants to grow poorly and affect the ornamental effect. Then cover the seeds with a layer of planting soil, about 1cm~2cm thick. Be careful not to cover the soil too thinly, otherwise the roots of the grown plants may be exposed to the air, which is not conducive to their survival. Finally, water the flowerpot and place it in a semi-shaded place. Water it frequently to ensure that the planting soil is moist. Seedlings will emerge in about 20 days. For open-air planting, you need to first choose a suitable piece of land and turn the soil in advance to a thickness of about 30cm. Dig holes according to the plant spacing of about 0.5X1m, and the hole depth is 3~4cm. Then put the seeds into the holes, 3 to 4 seeds per hole is appropriate. Finally, fill the hole with planting soil and irrigate it with water to ensure that the moisture of the planting soil is suitable for seed germination. |
