How to grow snow lotus

How to grow snow lotus

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Snow lotus has a very strong adaptability to low temperatures and can withstand temperatures as low as dozens of degrees below zero. For its seeds, it can germinate in an environment of three to five degrees, and its seedlings can also withstand temperatures as low as minus twenty-one degrees. Therefore, generally speaking, there is no need to pay attention to the temperature.

2. Light: The growing environment of snow lotus is very harsh and the climate is very changeable. It can adapt to this environment, so the requirement for sunlight is not too high and it can grow normally under weak light conditions.

3. Watering: In the growth environment of snow lotus, rain and snow often occur together, and the normal precipitation is about 800 mm. If it is aquaculture, it is best to provide an appropriate amount of water to meet its requirements.

4. Fertilization: First of all, it is best to mix an appropriate amount of base fertilizer into the soil, accounting for about 20%. After that, top dressing can only be done in summer, once every fifteen days.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be done by sowing. However, using this method, the time from sowing to flowering will be relatively long, and it usually takes three to five years for the plant to slowly bloom. It is best to choose seeds that are plump, large, and shiny. And it is best to treat it with rooting powder first. Humus, fine sand, etc. can be used as the matrix. After sowing, the temperature should be between 20 and 26 degrees, which is most conducive to germination. Furthermore, the soil moisture content should be around 60 percent.

2. Weeds: During the growth of snow lotus, many weeds may appear next to it and compete with the snow lotus for nutrients, water, and sunlight. Therefore, it is best to remove them in time or use appropriate medicines.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: During the seedling period, diseases that are more likely to occur include "damping-off disease" and "sudden wilt disease", and the pathogens can also infect other plants. After discovery, deal with the diseased plants in time, then control the water and add more fertilizer in an appropriate amount.

2. Pests: There are not too many pests, especially when the temperature is very low, so if there are any, just spray insecticide.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: Snow lotus is not poisonous and it is a very precious medicinal material.

2. Can it be raised at home? Generally not. It will be distributed in high mountains or planted on a large scale as an economic crop.
