The succulents in your home are not very green, but others' are as beautiful as a palette, and it's all because of this little thing?

Watering carrots

If the succulents in your home are from the Crassulaceae family, then carrot water can have an amazing effect on you.

The color change of succulents is mainly due to the decrease of chlorophyll and the increase of anthocyanin. However, if the low temperature requirements are not met and there is no large temperature difference, chlorophyll will not decrease.

Cut the carrots into pieces and cook them. Put them into a plastic bottle, tighten the cap, and ferment for 1 month. After fermentation, dilute it and water it into the soil of Sedum succulent. After it absorbs carotene, it will change from green to a tender jelly color.

Ice water spray

This is a very popular method for meat circles, which is not only simple but also minimizes damage to the meat.

Prepare some ice water at a temperature of 0 to 5 degrees Celsius, and spray it on the succulents in the form of water mist using a spray bottle every evening, spraying 3 to 5 times at a time.

This can create a temperature difference, inactivate some chlorophyll, and promote the production of anthocyanins in succulents, so that the color will become brighter.

Get more sun

Sunbathing is a well-known way to get color. In autumn, the temperature difference gradually increases, with abundant sunshine during the day and lower temperatures at night, so the environment can be improved quickly.

Full sunshine means that the area can get full sun exposure from the time the sun rises until the sun sets.

Some people put succulents on the windowsill. In fact, the time they can get sunlight in a day is limited. The glass filters most of the ultraviolet rays, causing the color of succulents to be not as good as those grown outdoors. It is recommended to place succulents at the outermost position of the balcony, and it is best to grow them outdoors if conditions permit.

Water less

Make sure to wait until it is completely dry before watering. Otherwise, not only will it not color, but it will also grow too long, which would be a tragedy.

It is not necessary to water the plant just because the surface of the soil in the pot is dry, because the soil underneath may still be moist. It is best to weigh the pot before watering and make sure it is completely dry before watering. When watering, water the soil thoroughly along the edge of the pot, but avoid watering the leaves.

Also, the less ventilation, poorer light, more plastic pots, deeper pots, smaller pot mouths and larger pots, and lower temperatures, the slower the water will spread and the lower the frequency of watering will be.

State accumulation

The perfect state of succulents needs accumulation and maintenance. It is impossible to achieve the perfect state in a few days, and it is impossible to think that it can be achieved once and for all after achieving the perfect state.

Succulents that are sunburned, frostbitten, infested by insects, growing too tall, or spreading out are more difficult to color. However, succulents that once had a color base are easier to color again under our cultivation. So be patient!
