How to Propagate Aloe Vera

Aloe cutting propagation

Cutting propagation is a common method of propagating aloe

Cutting propagation is the use of the main stem of aloe without roots and the lower part of the side branches to separate and propagate the aloe to produce new plants. It is particularly suitable for the propagation of aloe with well-developed divisions and easy elongation of stem nodes.

First remove the top buds to allow the lateral buds to grow rapidly. The grown branches can be used as propagation materials for cuttings.

The second is to use stem cuttings and root cuttings for propagation, and they can be grown in the open field.

Finally, pay attention to insulation measures and shade to promote rooting and sprouting of aloe branches.

Aloe vera plant propagation

First, dig the aloe vera plant with side buds out of the potting soil, and then select the larger side buds that already have independent root systems. Then pinch the place where the plant's roots and lateral buds are connected with your fingers, and gently use your other hand to half-open the lateral buds.

Secondly, you need to dry the broken side buds in a warm environment to allow the moisture in the wound to evaporate.

Finally, plant the dried side buds into the container. Be careful not to fill with too much soil, just enough to reach the stem of the plant. After planting, water it in time and wait for new buds to grow.

Aloe vera repotting

After choosing the right method of propagation for aloe vera, you will always be successful as long as you take good care of it.

Because aloe vera will grow slowly during the breeding period, it is necessary to repot it to promote growth.

Especially aloe vera will stop growing in spring. At this time, you should use the method of quick-drainage pots, repot and change the soil, and then the aloe vera will continue to grow.
